Stung by the
criticism of its scheduling, the ICC in an high-power meeting held in
camera, has decided not to give points to rain-hit matches. Instead
to keep alive the spirit of competition has decided to adapt a new
approach.

Once the umpires
have decided the game of cricket cannot be conducted, they asks the
teams to compete over a swimming competition.

A team a four
members, chosen the captain, will face off in an individual medley
relay over 400m, the team winning getting full points.

In case where one
innings has been completed, and rains interrupt the match in as such
that further game of cricket is not possible, the opponent will then
be provided a revised DLS-S (Duckworth-Lewis-Stern-Swim) target based
on a complex equation know only to ICC. The team will however, be
given a sheet worked out so that it can work out how fast and how far
it has to swim to end up on the winning side. (South Africa will be
given a special sheet on request).

Also cracking down
on team and captains criticising the ICC, the governing body has
decided that the erring captain will be made to swin a certain
distance corresponding to his level of criticism.

However,
understanding the angst that forced the captain to complaint, the
benevolent governing body has also made it clear that such captains
will be given certain points, subject to their completing the desired
course in desired time, which the captain can redeem in the next
match. The exact details will be provided at such time the captain
needs it.

And henceforth no
teams will automatically get points in case of a washout.

The rule comes into
effect immediately.
